Our Cary Baker Shares the Best Super Bowl Party Treats to Try

Even if you’re not a sports enthusiast, everyone can celebrate the opportunity to pig out on delicious snack foods on February 2nd, the Super Bowl’s yearly date. Whether you’re hosting your own Super Bowl party, or will just be contributing a tasty dish, these delicious Super Bowl snacks will definitely make you game day’s MVP.

Gouda-Chorizo Jalapeno Poppers

Classic Jalapeno Poppers get a fancy kick with smoked gouda in this recipe from Sunny Anderson. For children or the spice-adverse, swap the jalapenos with poblanos or, even milder, banana peppers.

Hot Corn Dip

Don’t get us wrong, we’re big fans of traditional spinach-artichoke dip and buffalo chicken dip. Hot corn dip is something a little more unusual that your guests may not have heard of. To make it, you’ll need two cans of corn, about three cups of cheese, and mayonnaise. (Trust us, it’s embarrassingly delicious.)

Walking Frito Tacos

If the Super Bowl isn’t an appropriate time to dump beef chili, cheese, onions, and peppers into a bag of Fritos and walk around eating it with a spoon, we don’t know what is. To prevent soggy Fritos, we suggest preparing all of the above sans Fritos the night before, then combining it the day of.

Chicken and Waffle Bites

By converting this classic Southern treat into bite-sized portions, this recipe effectively eliminates the only drawback of chicken and waffles, which is that it’s messy. Now, you can shove even more crunchy, salty fried chicken atop of sweet, syrupy buttermilk waffles into your mouth without the hassle of using a knife and fork. Truly a win-win.

Team-Colored Desserts

Cake pops, cupcakes, or custom-baked cookies decked out in your favorite team’s colors make an awesome centerpiece for your table and don’t leave any mess behind. You can either make your own at home, or free up some time for the other appetizers on this list by ordering them from our Raleigh bakery!
